We were excited to host our second annual Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day on March 8th. We had 15 people join us to brew La Yegua Brava, a Double IPA with hops specially selected for the event by Yakima Chief and the Pink Boots Society.
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® (CBD) is an international celebration of women in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry — it's a movement to recognize the impact they have on our industry. Each year, registered teams brew beer and participate in Collaboration Brew Day, donating portions of the proceeds of their sales to help fund scholarships that support the Pink Boots mission to assist, inspire, and encourage the professional development and education of women and non-binary individuals in our industry. It is our largest, annual fundraising event.
Prior to brewing we had a chance to talk about the brewing process and answer questions while eating Krispy Creams and drinking coffee. Kevin led the brew day, mashing in around 10. While brewing we enjoyed lunch from Frumentos and with the help of everyone who attended we transfered 5 bbls of wort to the fermenter.
During fermentation we plan to share updates with the team on progress.
