At Angry Horse Brewing, we’ve always pushed ourselves to keep learning, growing, and evolving—both as brewers and as a community. So when it came time to brew something bold for our 8th Anniversary, we didn’t just want to revisit old favorites. We wanted to show off what’s next.

Enter Chilly Filly, our take on one of craft beer’s most exciting modern styles: the Cold IPA.

❄️ So… What’s a Cold IPA?

Despite the name, a Cold IPA isn’t just an IPA served extra cold. It’s a whole new approach to hop-forward brewing—cleaner than a Hazy, drier than a West Coast, and fermented with lager yeast to let hops shine without distraction.

Chilly Filly uses the legendary 34/70 yeast strain, fermented warm for speed and punch. Built on a base of Pilsner malt and flaked rice, this beer is ultra-light in body with crystal clarity. That makes it the perfect stage for a heavy-hitting hop lineup: Nectaron, Motueka, HBC 586, and Nelson Sauvin. The result is a vibrant, expressive IPA that’s hop-saturated without being heavy.

This isn’t a hazy juice bomb, and it’s not your grandpa’s IPA either. Chilly Filly is high-octane hop flavor with a racehorse finish.

• Juicy tropicals: passionfruit, white peach, and mango

While that beer brought the desert sun and vibrant fruit energy, Chilly Filly brought the cool, confident edge. Together, they told a story about where we’ve been—and where we’re going.
